2020 WICKLINE SCHOLARS

The Education Committee is pleased to announce our 2020 Wickline Scholarship recipients. Due to a generous contribution from US Bank, we are able to award a total of $8,500 this year. All of our applications this year included excellent educational goals. It is our pleasure to announce the following recipients:

Allison Lynch will be awarded $4,000. She has been attending college for 7 years while working as a nanny to support herself and her 9-year-old son, as well as her mother.  She plans to be a primary public-school teacher.  This scholarship will allow her to complete her final college semester this spring and perform her student teaching.

Jessica Smigle will use her $2,5000 scholarship towards becoming a nurse.  She plans to get a CNA certificate in the course of her nursing training so she can provide for her family while she continues towards her nursing degree.  Growing up in a dysfunctional environment and as a recovered addict, Jessica vowed to break the family cycle and get an education so that her two children would never grow up as she did.

Cari McCracken will be awarded a $500 scholarship to attend a vocational training program to get the training required to keep her counseling credential current.   A former addict who is 13 years clean and sober, she describes herself as passionate about helping women heal from their struggles.  Cari says she treats each woman with dignity and respect and never forgets what it was like.

Krina Koestler is striving to right her life following her escape from a violent relationship.  She plans to use her $1,500 scholarship to continue her education with plans to work in the IT field.  Krina describes herself as having a technical mind and a helpful spirit.  She looks forward to helping women escaping violence by teaching them computer skills to help improve their lives.

We are excited to be able to help these deserving women achieve their goals and improve theirs’ and their families’ lives.
